It was a dark and stormy night. But of course it was quite late in the afternoon. Additionally the sun was shining favorably upon the land. Therefore the first sentence of this paragraph was wrong. It was wrong because of the congregation of dark robed people outside of the apothecary's shop. Pavel the Apothecary was somewhat distressed over this congregation, for each member of the party was brandishing shiny and sharp blades at him. Pavel would be happier if he was indoors, but that wasn't the case.

The company of six dark robed people stood like a burning hedge of thorns between peril and relative danger. (If his brother-in-law Graham the Brigand was at home, relative danger would have been changed into dangerous relative.)

Three of the six charged, silently but with a fair amount of zeal. Pavel remembered the trinket given to him by Carlotta the Crone. Being one labeled as "Instictive and Swift" by his survival college teacher twenty years earlier, Pavel fished the trinket out of his robe's left-hand inner pocket and delivered six sharp thundercracks. Six bullets were fired systematically, and without trace of randomness.

The three charging men fell, each suffering from a bout of a shattered skull and a mashed brain.

What was it Carlotta called the trinket? An Eff Enn Pee Ninety? A peculiar name for a peculiar weapon. In any case he very much liked it.
