Allie’s 27 Month Birthday

And lo, the child speaks!!!!! Seriously, Allie finally started talking! It all happened starting about two weeks ago – but hey, better late than never, right? [[image:20101122-15.jpg:Smiiiiiiiiiiiiile:center:0]] The smile-grimace hasn’t changed though. 😉 So now, at 27 months, Allie has been actually speaking (intelligibly) for about two weeks. I guess something finally clicked, and instead of conversing with us in her own special baby language, she’s speaking. Real words! It is all very exciting. It started, as I said, about two weeks ago, after a bath while I was toweling her and getting her diapered and dressed, she pointed to her feet and said “Toe”. And she would do this consistently! And then she pointed to Vin’s hat and said “Hat”. And then it snowballed from there! The words she says now include: * Body parts: Eye (said with a distinct southern accent), Telinga (which means ear, her first Malay […]

Creatures of Azamar Part One

Here are five new artwork for creatures of the Azamar roleplaying setting, commissioned by Wicked North Games. The bear sloth is a large furry predator. Twice the height of a human, the fiend devourer grabs its victims and stuff them into its mouth on top of its body. The crossbow-armed Skeleton Sentinels are undead creatures cursed to be the guardians of a place or an item. Human-sized predators, Harriers are not only fast, they also hunt in packs and are invisible to the naked eye. Therians are shapeshifters that can take the form of any living thing they touch, except for dragons. More artwork from the book will be posted soon.

Some Flea Market Scores

Here are some recent purchases from the Amcorp Mall weekend flea market. Sure some of the accessories are missing, but together they all cost less than one brand new figure. Yay! Cheap-ass weekends! Here they are chronologically: Seen in the Dark Lords of the Sith comic series, this leader of the Mandalorians from 4,000 years ago fell into a jungle and was eaten by a bear. Seen in the episode “Trespass” Clone Captain CC-7567 brandishes his twin DC-17 blasters. So far he hasn’t been eaten by a bear. Bane Malar! Never seen anywhere before except in behind-the-scenes photos in Return of the Jedi. He was the inspiration for “Jax”, the SWAG request I did earlier this year. I wonder if he was ultimately eaten by a bear.

Here’s To A Decade

Ten years ago today, there was an aqad ceremony where Ain and I were wed. Here we are 10 years later, together and eating chicken at Kenny Rogers Roasters after so many trials and much struggle. The dinner was courtesy of Emma. It was a great dinner. Thanks, Cik Ma! I can still remember the anxiety and distress almost 2 years later, when embryonic Irfan did not move for hours and we rushed to hospital in panic to check up on him. Here he is still with us now 8 years later. I love the pasta salad. I should have told the waitress to give me pasta salad for all three of the side dishes. This was Ain’s. Unless it’s Emma’s. But it’s certainly not Irfan’s. Another dead bird about to be devoured. Happy anniversary to us. Here’s to another 10 years and more!

Azamar Dragonrider

Here’s the first creature artwork commissioned by Wicked North Games for their Azamar sourcebook to be used with their Cinema6 RPG system. Dragons, I think are one of the least exotic fantasy beasts to grace the land of Azamar. Watch this space for more creature artwork. Click here to download the Cinema6 beta R2 version of the rules.

A Dhohanoid Dolphin

Cthulhutech is a role-playing game that combines elements from the Cthulhu Mythos with a bit of Macross and Neon Genesis Evangelion; a post-apocalyptic, cosmic horror with a dash of freaking giant mecha throwdown. One of the creatures in the world of Cthulhutech is a dhohanoid, a lethal, horrifying, shape-changing monster which hides itself by shape-changing into a regular human. I was commissioned to illustrate a new dhohanoid by Kai for the scenario he was running. I was to play in this scenario too, but the flu got the better of me. Click here for a larger picture.
