In honor of Laura and Roberto's visit to Chicago, we decided to spend the weekend there. Laura and I have been working together for a few years now, but we have never met in person since Laura lives in Argentina. We drove up and had dinner with Laura, Roberto, and the Chicago contingent of Jen, Mike and Scott:
Despite being at the famed Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza place, neither child ate the cheesy goodness that night.

But Jen and Yaya renewed their friendship and sealed it with post-it flag manicures
Yaya and Adik get their first train ride (of any sort). The El route that we took included being underground as well as elevated! Yay!
We spent a day at the Chicago Children's Museum (pictures here), and conked out and the next day, Scott made us all a scrumptious dinner at Jen and Mike's place. We invited Christine to come too (party at Jen and Mike's while they're away!):
Photos of the ridiculously delicious and beautiful food:
Thank you Scott for spoiling us with such a lovely dinner. Keep on keeping on!
Laura and Roberto entertain the kids with paper:
We had an excellent time in Chicago, despite the deep freeze and unforgiving wind (37 F for a high in May??? OMG). Thanks to all the friends who made time to hang out with us. We hope to see you again soon. Laura and Roberto, next time I hope you get to come to visit and stay with us in our home as well!
Here are a couple of photos of the view from our hotel room:
