Force and Destiny Core Rulebook

At first Fantasy Flight Games released the Edge of the Empire rulebook which allowed players to be the scoundrels and smugglers of the galaxy. Then they released the Age of Rebellion rulebook for players to play soldiers and military spies. Finally, their final Star Wars role-playing game (RPG) rulebook is in my hands: Force and Destiny, where players are able to choose from a range of Jedi characters to play. It had been released for almost two years now, but I was not able to get my hands on it. I was unable to grab it off Amazon because I possess no credit card. Nor was I able to use Paypal to order it from Book Depository because it has been “out of stock” for many months. On a whim I offered to draw for the book and Erik Jensen on Google Plus accepted. So I drew this for him. […]

Raniq Arae – Jedi Pilot

Erik Jensen commissioned a drawing of his wife – who is a huge Star Wars fan – as a purple lightsabre swinging Jedi who also happens to be an X-wing fighter pilot. Also included is the astromech droid designated BB-2. This is one of the rare instances where I draw an original Star Wars character which is not involved in any RPG campaigns.

Paperminis: Phase II Clone Troopers

I thought I would get the ubiquitous Republic clone troopers from the Clone Wars out of the way before we get swept up by Rogue One fever in the coming months. These are just standard Phase II armour without any armour decorations. There are ten clone troopers and two clone commanders on the PDF. Everyone has one DC-15 blaster. Here is what you can do: Customise these troopers! Decorate it yourself with coloured markers, and write their name in the box. Go to town on them with a Sharpie. Now you will have customisable clone trooper paper miniatures for your Star Wars RPG campaign set in the Clone Wars! More clone trooper variants to come in the future! Click here to download the free PDF file for printing and assembling.

CH-33Z vs K-2SO

The Star Wars Show on YouTube called for more fanart from the internet of their mascot MSE-6 mouse droid CH-33Z. As I have since been told that I am – more or less – part of this “internet”, then here is something I made which includes a cameo appearance of Rogue One‘s own Imperial droid K-2SO.

SWD6: Doublecross

Strikeforce Enteague Episode 08: Doublecross After their mission to Driscall, bouny hunters Shanna Toarinar and Ace Browning Crossfire along with the pirate Phoenix Avalon were assigned a new pilot, the Quarren hot dogger ace Dorniekke Nels and a temporary member, the elderly former Imperial Star Destroyer Captain Robetre. Their commander Drew Greyhelm informed them that one of their spies Cal Tynblade had discovered the location of the Imperial transport Rectifier packed with weapons and supplies which had been lost in the Kolben Asteroid Field. They were to commandeer it to the rebel outpost on Liesson for Alliance use. The Ambush at Kolben The Nexus Point, piloted by Dorniekke, entered the Kolben field while Ace scanned for the location of the Rectifier. It had been parked in a cave in a large asteroid. Ace and Phoenix donned spacesuits, cycled the airlock and pushed out toward the asteroid in space. As they close […]

SWD6: Battle Among the Clouds

Strikeforce Enteague Episode 07 Battle Among the Clouds A CRY FOR HELP FROM IGMALAR! Drew Greyhelm received a signal from Rebel spy Ooogle Flutzgle at the swamp planet of Igmalar in the Enteague Sector. He had important information for the Alliance. Fresh from their mission to Belderone, Shanna Toarninar the bounty hunter and Viveede Briylle Colore the star pilot were assigned to meet the spy in Igmalar City to assess how dire this information was. The Igmalar City Imperative Viveede set the Nexus Point down in Igmalar City under a false ship ID. The city administrated the harvesting and processing of pharmaceutical materiel from the swamps of the planet and was crawling with Imperials. The local sapient species were the Grenben, who once built the city on a tall, flat mesa that towered over the rest of the swampland, and had been reduced to slaves in their own homes by […]

SWD6: Betrayal

Strikeforce Enteague Episode 06 Betrayal After their little bounty hunting side job, the team returned to Enteague Minor to discover that Commander Drew Greyhelm had added a new member to their ranks, the human star pilot Viveede Briylle Colore. Commander Greyhelm assigned Shanna Toarinar and Phoenix Avalon a new mission. Viveede would pilot them to the Belderone system to extract a person named Derin Heightson, who happened to be Phoenix’s best friend from when they were both seven until they went their separate ways at fifteen. Phoenix lost track on Derin. It appeared when Phoenix began his career as a space pirate, Derin had built a life for himself on Belderone. In hyperspace, they wondered what the semi-disassembled assassin droid with a riot gun doing in a heap beside the doorway in the Nexus Point‘s common room. Viveede told them Drew ordered the dangerous machine to be scrapped. For some […]

SWD6: The Rogue Lieutenant

Strikeforce Enteague Episode 05 The Rogue Lieutenant After their previous adventure to the “illusory” planet of Zarligrenor, the strikeforce decided to take a week off at the Ginuvar system located also in the Enteague Sector. Moonlighting at Ginuvar Ginuvar was a patchwork of territories belonging to galactic and local corporations such as Industrial Automaton, SoroSuub, BlasTech, Neurosaav and Koensayr. Ginuvar’s seas were a broth of toxic compounds and most of her land were a plethora of factory complexes, power generation stations, arcologies and atmosphere scrubbers. The Nexus Point however landed in the planetary capital of Porzohal, a city built in the Green Zone, the only territory on Ginuvar still with a green and natural ecosystem, jungles and grasslands and all in the planet’s equatorial zone. Phoenix Avalon and Jon Dean thought that they should let their bounty hunting team-mates Shanna Toarinar and Ace Browning Crossfire take the lead and get […]

Grenadier Battle Droid

David Schwarz, a Star Wars D6 gamemaster and player, recently tweeted some homebrewed illustrations and stats of a droid he made before a game many, many years ago. This inspired me to draw a quick sketch of this ancient Mandalorian battle droid using GIMP. Here are its stats: Model: Grenadier 2A-1D Type: Ancient Mandalorian battle droid Dexterity: 3D+2 Mini missile ops: 7D+2 (damage: 7D+2) Strength: 6D+2

SWD6: The Test of Truth Part 1

Strikeforce Enteague Episode 04A The Test of Truth Part 1 The fourth session of the campaign was run in 1989 but I drew a comic of it some time in the mid 1990s. Because of the references in the first page, I would say this was pencilled some time after I got Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments From The Rim. (Perhaps in 1994 or 1995.) Besides the first page, which is my attempt to establish that stuff happens all over the Galactic Empire, everything else should have happened more or less according to the game. The script is, obviously, not 100% as spoken by the players. Because the comic has 24 pages, it will be divided between two blog entries with 12 pages each entry to minimise bandwidth strain, because graphics or something. Last time on Strikeforce Enteague, a number of handpicked fringer-type agents were assembled and then transferred to the […]

SWD6: Snow Job

Strikeforce Enteague Episode 03 Snow Job The adventures of the Strikefore Enteague continued as the team relocated to the new Alliance outpost on the moon of Enteague Minor, to be commanded by rebel commando Drew Greyhelm, a native of the Sirsee system in the Enteague sector. In their first official mission, pirate Phoenix Avalon, minor Jedi Ben One-Howel and the latest recruit outlaw Jon Dean, were assigned to scout the Engira system on the light freighter Parabolic Arc. However, hyperdrive mishap caused their ship to crash into the frozen ice fields of the planet Kendell in the Kendell system, still within the sector. Salvaging supplies from the destroyed Parabolic Arc, they then trekked toward a know surveillance post nearby. To speed up their movements, they hunt, corral and capture wild tauntauns (using the beast riding skills for the first time) to ride though the cold. They found the surveillance post […]

SWD6: Rebel Breakout

Strikeforce Enteague Episode 02 Rebel Breakout After the first solo session that introduced Bounty Hunter Shanna Toarinar into the campaign, I ran a session for a larger group of players using the adventure included in West End Games’ Star Wars The Roleplaying Game rule book, entitled Rebel Breakout. I thought it amazing that the group consisted of players from my class as well as players a year and two years younger from different classes from school. Everyone was new at RPGs! A group consisting of Phoenix Avalon the pirate, Ace Browning Crossfire the bounty hunter, Phix an alien student of the Force (retroactively considered to be of Revwien species), Yoat Den the mercenary and Ben One-Howel an minor Jedi rendezvous at Mesa 291, an abandoned lidium mine on Bothan’s Planet, to meet with Tiree, a rebel recruitment agent. However, Tiree was nowhere to be found, but they discovered the droid […]

Paperminis: Rogue One Troopers

Rogue One, the first of the Star Wars anthology movies, will be released in six months. New stormtrooper types which will make their debut in the film have been introduced by Lucasfilm a couple of weeks ago. We have no idea what the functions of these new stormtroopers are right now. If I were to guess, the shoretroopers are made of clones of Pauly Shore and the death troopers die immediately after wearing the uniform. In any case, I made a single sheet of paper miniatures to be used with the Star Wars RPG. Six shoretroopers and six death troopers to be used against any rebel scum in your campaign. Updated (9th December 2018): Minor layout repairs done and a brand new shoretrooper drawing inserted in the pdf. Click here to download the free pdf for printing and assembly!

SWD6: The Privilege of Choice

Time is the Hunter Episode 04: The Privilege of Choice A 1500th post special! Last time on Star Wars Time is the Hunter, Jax Hunt finds himself being forcibly inducted into a bounty hunter posse bent on killing his mark, known only as The Skywalker in the abandoned structures deep beneath Spaceport Tower 214 in the Byblos system. Jax recently learned that The Skywalker was also helping to save young orphans of victims of the tyrannical Galactic Empire. Surrounded by a colourful group of nearly 20 bounty hunters consisting of a variety of species, Jax Hunt faced their prune-faced Dressellian leader who wore a DL-44 blaster at his hip. The leader barked with a smile, “My name is Kozener. And I lead this crew to claim the bounty on The Skywalker. But we will kill this Skywalker and claim 20 times the reward of the one posted through your House […]

Old Sketches for Star Wars Adventures

I would very much like to say that these are some of the oldest illustrations I have drawn to be used for Star Wars RPG (to be precise the Strikeforce Enteague campaign), but they are not. These were drawn in the mid-90s when I was running the “second season” of the campaign, so to speak, after I returned from my studies. Regarding these illustrations: it occurred to me that I could fold a single A4 piece of paper into 8 sections and draw characters, scenes and computer displays that I have planned to appear in the session. Note that not all of these were ultimately used in a session. Click on each thumbnail to view the full image. This was the first session I ran upon coming home. I was lounging around at home when a bunch of youngsters – still in lower secondary school – accosted me at my […]
