Creatures of Azamar Part Four

30 November 2010 | Hisham | | Artwork, Role Playing Games

Here are five new artwork of mystical and deadly beings of the Azamar fantasy roleplaying setting, commissioned by Wicked North Games

Agmai

A Fiend which vomits its caustic stomach acid upon its prey and gobbles them up whole.

Rakshai

Feline-like Fiends with four eyes and four arms.

Revenant

Revenants are actually magical balls of flame that can transform itself into fiery visage of an undead warrior.

Saturian

Saturians are extremely attractive human-like Fiends, until they unfold their maw to feed.

Syetan

Syetans are hideously ugly Fiends with three hoofed legs and very asymmetrical features on their faces.

A Trio of Horrific Monsters

27 November 2010 | Hisham | | Artwork, Role Playing Games

After finishing up the artwork in the previous entry, Vonschlick Productions sent some more light jobs my way: three mostrous horrors, also to be used by tabletop gamers. The art orders were for a werewolf, a vampire and a monster of my choice - which I drew a monstrous burrowing beast from the dark, slimy depths of the Earth's crust. So here they are:

Not Michael J. Fox, nosiree

Werewolf

A Nosferatu-class aortic biter.

Vampire

Shudde M'ell from entry #734

Chthonic Horror

Again, wait for the high-resolution images to be released in Vonschlick's catalogue on their DriveThruRPG.com catalogue by year's end for your gaming use.

A Trio of Fantasy Elves

26 November 2010 | Hisham | | Artwork, Role Playing Games

Vonschlick Productions is a company that publishes character artwork for role-playing games. Recently, I was commissioned to illustrate a series of three generic fantasy Elves for their new character artwork book.

Here they are in low-resolution. To get high-resolution, print-ready images for your game, purchase the book which should be listed on their DriveThruRPG.com catalogue by the end of the year.

With a bit of Reverend Strone's influence, perhaps

Warrior

The obligatory hot elf chick

Scout

...with Warcraft elf ears instead of Spock ears

Mage

Irfan Meets Mia

21 November 2010 | Hisham | | Family Pics

Once upon a time, Irfan's Pak Alang got married.  Yesterday, we all visited them at the hospital to see their new baby Mia who was born a couple of days before.

Scream! Scream!

When we first arrived, Mia was located in her bassinet in the post-natal ward's nursery with perhaps half a dozen other screaming babies.

A second cousin

Irfan poses with his second cousin, once Mia was transferred back to her mother.

Creatures of Azamar Part Three

20 November 2010 | Hisham | | Artwork, Role Playing Games

Here are four new artwork of creatures of the Azamar roleplaying setting, commissioned by Wicked North Games.

Foragers

The diminuitive Foragers, denizens of the deep, are raiders of the surface world.

Hydreans

The mysterious and venomous hydreans appear to be floating jellyfish that are attracted to magic use in Azamar.

Kraken

Not the form of a traditional kraken, but it would be quite interesting to be camped out on an island which would submerge without warning.

Zull

Huge, lumbering zulls have tough scales on their hide and are able to burrow with their paws.

The Zombie Apocalypse with Microlite20

19 November 2010 | Hisham | | Role Playing Games, RPG Actual Play, RPG Irfan Plays, TV

After three episodes of The Walking Dead on AMC, I thought I'd try a zombie game scenario with Irfan. I was itching to try out the free Microlite20 system, so I adapted it the M20 Modern plug-in to come up with a simple zombie apocalypse scenario.

M20 Pocketmods!

Irfan wanted to play a sheriff, he rolled up his three characteristics, chose a Smart Hero class (which gives him +1 to Knowledge) and took a Law Enforcement starting occupation (which gives him another +1 to Knowledge and a +1 to Physical). The game began with Irfan coming back to town from a three-day campout in the woods. He had with him a sniper rifle.

As he walked up the road to town, he spotted a car at the roadside. Upon a closer look, he noticed a figure slumped back in the seat.

The Many Green Lanterns of the Trailer

17 November 2010 | Hisham | | Comics, Misc Sci-Fi

The official trailer for next year's Green Lantern movie starring Deadpool is out. There are quite a number of Green Lanterns in the trailer.

Abin Sur!

But where's Qward?

Tomar-Re and the Oan central power battery!

Green Lantern of Space Sector 1417

Sinestro!

Highball

and of course, Hal Jordan.

Yeah, I just wanted to post pictures of the live-action corpsmen on the blog, is all. Too bad there's no Mogo and Bzzd.

An Anomid Tech Specialist

10 November 2010 | Hisham | | Artwork, Star Wars

Anomids are aliens which have no vocal cords in the Star Wars galaxy. Over millennia, they developed and communicate with each other via an elaborate sign language using their six-fingered hands. However, when communicating with the galaxy at large, Anomids wear a voice synthesiser mask which allows them to speak to other species.

This RPG character artwork of a teenaged Anomid tech specialist was requested by "Michael" at the Star Wars Artists' Guild forum.

As mentioned earlier, here are some more artwork commissioned for the Azamar fantasy setting sourcebook for the Cinema6 RPG system from Wicked North Games, this time in alphabetical order.

Simon will love this

Asazis

The intelligent Asazis are fearsome arachnid-like creatures with a centaur-like torso, but hardly any human-like features.

Trick or Treat! ROARRRRR!

01 November 2010 | sila | | Family Pics

Last year a buzzy bee baby graced us at Halloween. This year, we went with mammalian and feline, an inspiration from the zoo visit at Allie's 26 month birthday, and since Allie does love cats so much. So...

Happy smiling lion

In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight...

Just keep that song going while you read the rest of this entry, ok?
