Thanks once again to Hanna for inviting me for this fun event. It was truly very educational...

Star Wars RPG on Star Wars Day 2024

“May the Fourth Be With You.” The wish can seen thrown around all over the place on the 4th of May every year among Star Wars fans. Likewise this year, friends on various social media platforms are wishing to and fro across the internet. Sometimes, I forget how much of a cultural juggernaut Star Wars is. The Star Wars Day event at TTDI Here Be Dragons MY, the board game and tabletop RPG shop in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail where I ran Star Trek Adventures last December, invited me for an event this year! I was a speaker for a talk/workshop and GM for a Star Wars Day event there. Irfan and I booked a hotel at SS21 so we would not have to travel 60 klicks for the event. He was very instrumental in helping me organise and set up. Plus, Irfan joined as a player in the second […]

Aidilfitri 2024

Eid Mubarak, everyone! It is now Hari Raya Aidlifitri once again, and we had another road trip to visit family. This year it was Sitiawan’s turn, so we went to KL first to visit Anya’s family and to check on Tok Ma’s ailing health. Two days before Raya, we headed back up North towards Perak to Atok & Opah’s house. Check out the gallery below for stuff we did and people we met during the festive season. An Unlikely Crossover in the Fire Caves

Once in a while, something really stupid and makes no sense bubbles up in your mind and you need to get it out into meatspace. Here it is: a crossover between Call of Cthulhu RPG and Star Trek Deep Space Nine.   Just don’t ask me for Pah-wraith stats for Call of Cthulhu. I have it out of my system now and I am good.

Anniversary Part 23

Married for 23 years. Together for 27. She was amazing then, she grew even better and more capable over the years. I’d thought then it was the most I could ever love another person. It turned out I could love her even more as time went on. Happy anniversary, Ain. Thanks for being a part of my life. Thanks for being a partner. Thanks for being a guiding star. Love you forever.

Hari Raya Haji 1444H

For Aidiladha, we returned to Sitiawan where Ain made nasi minyak and ayam masak biryani. Here are some photos of the first day of Raya in Sitiawan. Click on them to expand. After taking photos, we went for a drive to Lumut. For the first time in a long while we pulled over and walked at the promenade (See photos). It was peculiar. Vacation season, but not a lot of humans at the pier as it usually is. Because of a medical emergency, we could not go visit the folks I wanted to visit this time around. We spent the second day of Raya at the Manjung Hospital. It was physically and mentally exhausting. In any case, we got to speak to the Middletown team via Discord early on the second day – which also wears away at my somewhat weary soul. So long since we were able to meet […]

Rania Pre-Aidilfitri Visit

It is the day before Hari Raya. Based on our annual Eid schedule, we will be spending Aidilfitri in Pasir Mas. On the eve of our journey, we received visitors from Rania and family who will be spending their Aidilfitri Day One here up north with Farid’s family. It was great that Nia and Irfan had some fun together. Next day, we will depart for Pasir Mas in the evening, passing over the mountains overnight and hopefully arrive in Pasir Mas before Subuh.
