#StarTrekAdventures Emergency Deep S01E05 "Where t #StarTrekAdventures Emergency Deep S01E05 "Where the Trychnos Currents Lead" Stardate: 58542.09; 18th July 2381 Investigating a distress call from merchant ship SS Takoyaki, the USS Östergötland NCC-72227 warps to the ocean planet of Trychnos, near Cor Caroli. Upon arrival, Lt. Cmdr. Tosk detects an emergency buoy in orbit which shows the merchant ship crashed into something invisible. They confirm crash coordinates & find that exotectonics are causing high currents in the high-salinity ocean. Cmdr. Drake submerges the Östergötland while Capt. Ellison calls Ensign Kithrup, a dolphin SAR specialist. The Takoyaki is on the sea bed under 200m of water, but too far for a life sign scan. Sensors detect two giant alien whales approaching. Drake tries to evade but they alter course to intercept. He accelerates the cat drive & soon loses the whales. The Takoyaki is rested on an unstable seabed, with cracks that release bubbles into the sea. Tosk detects survivors alive but trapped. Her bridge & cargo bay are flooded. Chief Tran transports 5 Takoyaki survivors to sickbay. Survivor Yeoman Bates warns Ellison not to transport any more. Resting precariously over a subterranean cave, the ship might be swallowed by it if her balance shifts & the cracks open up further. Also, Lt. Sevok notes that freshwater is flowing up from the cracks with the bubbles. Tosk tractor-beams the Takoyaki to keep her balanced then Chief Tran calculates the optimal transport sequence for the survivors. When done, the seabed crumbles beneath. An upsurge of freshwater hits the Östergötland. Not adapted for low salinity, she is pulled into the hole. Tosk vents plasma, causing a steam explosion underneath while Ellison adjusts the shield to take the force of the blast. This allows Drake to fly the ship out of the hole into safe waters. The Östergötland leaves Trychnos to drop off the survivors at Cor Caroli. NOTE: This session is played by children of my old #ACSSitiawan classmates, two of them playing their parents' PCs from our old 1989-1990 campaign! Story resulting from Session 4: "Mando" (real name still unknown) is assigned to team-up with Strikeforce Enteague's Scurvy H. Sharky the smuggler-gambler & Brett "Bloodhound" Baden the explorer-scout from the Enteague Sector. They are dropped on Sullust via a Lambda-class shuttle to steal a prototype Imperial bomber named TIE Screecher. As they move towards the hill where the base is located, a dwarf probe droid stops them. Though the others find good hiding places, the probot spots Brett, who informs it proudly that he is Dr. Zak, an Imperial weapons researcher. The droid believes his lie & drifts away. They arrive at the base of the hill. From a cave entrance, Brett spots an Imperial Army Trooper guarding a lift. They stun him unconscious. The lift leads to a chamber with two more guards. Their Dr. Zak ruse fails this time so "Mando" & Scurvy blast the guards. The TIE Screecher is spotted in an adjacent launch bay through an impenetrable forcefield. They use the guards' code cylinder to unlock the forcefield. While Mando warms up the engine, Scurvy opens the bay doors. But unfortunately he triggers an alarm in the process. Brett reactivates the forcefield just as stormtroopers appear from the lift outside and shoot at them. The forcefield holding off the blaster fire, they all rush into the bomber cockpit & launch the TIE Screecher. The ion engine exhaust triggers the open fuel storage (flip Destiny token), causing the entire bay to explode vaporising the entire hillside as the trio escape into the safety of hyperspace! #starwars #starwarsrebels #ageofrebellion #forceanddestiny #narrativedice #genesysrpg #tabletop #tabletopgames #tabletoproleplaying #tabletoproleplayinggame #tabletoproleplayinggames #tabletoprpg #tabletoprpgs
#StarWarsRPG #EdgeOfTheEmpire #MandoMayhem event #StarWarsRPG #EdgeOfTheEmpire #MandoMayhem event #TTRPG Session 3: "THE NAR SHADDAA REWARD" (Sunday 2023-05-21; New Republic Era.) Story resulting from Session 3: In hyperspace, "Mando" the Mandalorian gadgeteer, Dethra the Twi'lek outlaw tech and "Weak Eye" Wickeye the sharpshooter are on the G9 Rigger "Eon Falcon" when they receive a holo recording from their old friend Vorglo. The elder Aqualish is being hunted on Nar Shaddaa the Smuggler's Moon & needs their help to flee the system. Arriving in orbit around Nal Hutta, the "Eon Falcon" almost collides with a huge container ship. They land at Shadow District 3 & begin looking for Vorglo. While "Mando" buys space worms for lunch, Wickeye spots an ID9 seeker droid following them in the corridors. Using holo drone tech, Mando leads it away while Wickeye blasts with his blaster pistol from behind. Dethra accesses the undamaged droid brain & finds they have all been marked as WANTED by someone unknown. There is an address, pointing to an office space 2 levels above them. Dethra returns to the ship to ensure the ship is not being sabotaged and prepped for a quick escape. The other two head for the office. After defeating two Nikto & Weequay guards at the door by telling one about a buy one free one deal down the street, and stunning the other, Mando & Wickeye break into the office & find that it is Vorglo sitting at the boss' table. The Aqualish has been testing them for their resolve & would like to reward them for their loyalty. They return to the "Eon Falcon" with a lot of money and a cut of the reward for Dethra. Story resulting from Session 2: On Ibaar, Rebels Dash Pash the pilot and Narood the Rodian scout revert into realspace and intersect a comet's tail. Damaged by comet debris, the pink-hulled YT-1300 "Cash" crash lands into snow which only slightly damages her, thanks to Narood's survival skills pointing at a soft landing zone. Their mission: to retrieve an Imperial General Calvoun who wishes to defect. At first a vicious blizzard hinder their exploration for 30 minutes, then Pash decides to repair the ship alone while Narood head to the planned meet in a cave at an icy hill 3 km away. However, Narood quickly discovers that Calvoun has set up his bodyguard, the former clone trooper "Cricket" as bait to attract and capture the Rebel recruiters. Using Cricket's speeder bike (fllp Destiny Point), they shoot an attacking Viper probe droid in the eye. Upon arriving at the "Cash", the ISD "Manticore" jumps into the atmosphere. The trio take off and soar up toward the "Manticore" while evading heavy turbolaser fire. Pash crashes the "Cash" into the ISD's hangar bay, smashing into a lot other vehicles, including one Skipray Blastboat. After regaining their senses, they discover the "Cash" is badly damaged. Story resulting from Session 1: On Tatooine, Dash Pash the pilot, Lowhhrick the Wookiee & 41-VEX are jailed by Imperials in Mos Eisley. The Rebel trio quickly overpower the guard & the gonk droid, then throw both into the cell. Taking their gear, Pash, wearing a Naval Trooper uniform, pretends to bring Lowhhrick out of jail with VEX as his aide. Their ship, Dash Pash's YT-1300 "Cash" is in a landing bay across the street. Sandtroopers in the street try to accost them, but Low "breaking his binders" broke the lead trooper. The rest flee. Another five troopers approach, but VEX gets them to consider unionising instead. The trio sneaks into the landing bay. While VEX opens the ceiling doors & Low preps the ship for flight, Pash finds a bomb in the engine section & disarmed it. They take off, but before VEX rigs the landing bay entrance to explode with a grenade and a pack of "UNIONISE NOW" brochures. As they soar away, Jabba the Hutt, via a translator droid, contacts them. Their promise to destroy the "Cash" if they don't land at his palace is moot as Pash had already disarmed the bomb. VEX try to convince the droid to form a union, but Jabba (presumably) decapitates it, its head clattering on the floor before comms cut off. I brought my #EdgeoftheEmpire and #ForceandDestiny rulebooks, a couple of other sourcebooks, dices, maps, and my own homemade #StarWarsRPG #paperminiatures. Thanks to those who visited, asked questions and played. Actual play write-up of gaming session one "Union Troubles" and session two "Out In, Under and Through the Cold" to be posted when I have more free time. Heading out to Day Two now!
