And so the girl is now sixty one months old! 🙂

I debated whether or not to stop the girl’s monthly blog entries, given that she is now five (and 1 month!) and every month isn’t particularly different anymore. As it turns out, I am not quite ready to give it up yet. I admit it: I enjoy putting down a few words every month to commemorate the day that Yaya was born. And now, looking back, I am very glad that I’ve done this, and that I’m also doing this for Adik. However, I thought that it is time to kind of do a bit less, given that Yaya is no longer a newborn and that every month no longer brings a lot of changes. So while I will be posting an entry every month, I want to mostly document any new things or different things that she has done (or eaten, fingers crossed), perhaps chart her progress in schoolwork once we begin “officially” homeschooling her, and stuff like that.
New things to report this month: not much. Good steady progress on reading and arithmetic. Lots of artwork. Half-way through the month, we talked Yaya into allowing us to braid her hair. She prefers a two-braid (dua tocang) look, along with her customary barrettes. Much neater and easier throughout the day (and especially at mealtimes).
We did not go anywhere this month, so it was nice to be home. That’s about it. Let’s look at my favorite pictures of Yaya throughout the month.

Poor Yaya had to wait a few days after receiving the scooter for us to purchase her safety equipment. There were a few unfortunate accidents and falls without the proper equipment and the scooter had to be banned despite her cries of “I don’t want SAFETY!!!!!”

Yaya saw on television children experimenting with freezing their toys in blocks of ice and trying to race them. She talked Vin into trying it out:

Yaya also experimented with paint and stamping different household objects:

Now for some pictures with Adik:
