One more month before Adik is 3!

That photo was not taken on Adik’s 35-month birthday but it was so cute I had to include it. The makers of Nutella can feel free to contact us if they want to use that photo. Not! Also, if asked, I will categorically deny that I am writing this entry on the first day of 2015. I deny it, I do! 😉

So let’s quickly do statuses. Reading: check. Boy is literate. Speech: good. Food: OK. He does gravitate towards toast when we are on the road but will eat all kinds of things at home. He will chow down on roti canai, mama’s “spiky” lunch noodles (“spiky” is how he says “spicy” and he hates non-spicy noodles but doesn’t like it to be too spicy either), Pringles, goldfish crackers, and is following in his Mama’s footsteps at becoming a chocoholic. He loves to brush his teeth – and by brushing his teeth, I mean that he loves to eat his (non-toxic) toothpaste. And he loves having company at home and gets very attached. When our houseguest left after Thanksgiving, he cried. Poor little baby.
Potty training: I have been meaning to include this section in Adik’s entries but I keep forgetting. For the past few months, he has been going pee-pee on the froggy potty chair every so often. If he has to go when you ask, he will happily go on the froggy potty. He also loves to help “spill” (pour) the pee-pee into the toilet and flush it down. He gets high fives and cheers when this happens. He has even gone on the grown up toilet but he wants you to lift him up and hold on to him while he sits on the throne. But he will go. So far no number two on the potty. So technically, he is ahead of his sister in this. She was sitting on the potty chair but not doing anything at this age! Go Adik!
Before we proceed to how Adik spent his 35-month birthday, I am going to throw in another gratuitous photo:

That was taken in Tampa. I love the unabashed joy, abandonment to fun, and complete disregard for life and limb that is in this photo.
Adik’s 35-month birthday fell on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We were in Elkhart, IN to spend Thanksgiving with Becky’s family. We had a really fun time. We woke up at the Hilton Garden Inn:

Then we had a lovely breakfast downstairs.

[[image:2014-adik35month-17.jpg:Adik scorned the high chair and wanted to sit on a regular chair:center:0]]
Then he made time for some selfies with his poor old mother:

Then we headed over to Becky’s. That was the day the girls went to see the Nutcracker so Adik stayed home with Papa and Uncle Phil and watched (american) football.

Poor Adik was impatiently awaiting our return. He amused himself with looking at the art supplies to be used when all the kids are back.

[[image:2014-adik35month-08.jpg:Getting a little sad about just watching football:center:0]]
Then Adik has a good time playing with his Uncle Phil, who was recuperating from surgery. It did not stop Phil from getting Adik and making him laugh though.

But there was a lot of waiting for poor Adik that day.

[[image:2014-adik35month-29.jpg:Seriously bummed out about waiting – see the football on television?:center:0]]
Adik was so happy when we came home (from our trip to the art museum, window shopping, Nutcracker and free horse carriage ride in Elkhart – Adik missed out big time! But he was deemed too young to appreciate all but the carriage ride). He threw himself into playing with his cousins and even more cousins came to hang out.

He had an excellent evening with family after a day of waiting for people to come home/arrive.

Happy 35-month birthday, baby boy!! We love you!!!

PS – This is the first Adik entry that has no pictures of Yaya in it! Wow!
