Welcome to the Family, Mysti

It has been two months and I have not posted about our new family member. Young Mysti, as she is named by Irfan, is a stray kitten who appeared in Atok and Opah’s house and refused to leave the yard. She took shelter under the heavy foliage around the house, coming out only to play with Atok when Atok fed her.

After a few days we arrived from KL on the 16th of June and we decided to take Mysti home! Irfan bought a cat carrier on his own along with cat food and such.

Since then Mysti — or as Ain calls her Mystique and as I call her Mistiqamah — has been for checkups, vaccination and grooming a couple of times. She even stayed in a cat hotel twice when we needed to travel. The little lady is still jumpy at times. This might be because she was in the wild without family for too long, but seems to be enamoured by Ain. She stays the longest in Ain’s arms and waits at the bedroom door for Ain whenever she disappears inside.

Two months later (plus change), Mysti is filling out nicely, with a healthy coat of fur. She still sleeps in her cage outside, a cage obtained from our neighbour.

She's bathed a couple of times since

Someday perhaps we would be able to take her on vacation or balik kampung, but she has to relax her overexcited attitude a bit.

If we could we would also bring her to meet old Lily who was “young Lily” when the blog came into being.
