Another first for me this entire week is the fact that I ran RPG sessions for every one of my English classes, using Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. The students used Level 2 pre-generated characters downloaded from the DnD official site. I wish I was able to plan for more weeks, using the game to improve their speaking and writing skills, but c’est la vie.
Here are capsule actual play write ups for each session that I ran. The names and details of the characters in each session can be read in the accompanying photos. The theme of the week was Arts and Culture.
NOTE: The students who wrote these play reports speak nor write English as a first language. They did the best they could in light of other more pressing courses and assignments. Grammatical and spelling errors have been left in the text for research purposes, so do not disparage text nor the writers.

THE FROG YAWN VILLAGE ALTERCATION

Frog Yawn Village Party
In a village called Frog Yawn, there are six great people in the village. The village has six festivals which is hunting festival, harvest festival, fishing festival, wau festival, bizarre art festival and lantern art festival. One day they go to the lantern art festival. In the fun, one of their lanterns fell into the forest and caused a fire. All the animals in the forest attack in the lantern art festival but can be saved. After that, they split into two groups going to a fishing festival and a hunting festival.

Elf wizard be excellent at hunting festival. He’s against a two-headed tiger. He tried to kill the tiger but his attack did not hit the target. He kept trying to kill the tiger with his fire. He brave and patient. They have fun at a fishing festival while those at hunting festival are attacked by goblins because they dont like the arts and culture at the village. After making consent and negotiation, they did not come to attack and try to accept the art and culture of the village. Lastly, they all live in peaceful in the village.

[We discovered that the attackers hate the Arts and Culture Festival of Frog Yawn Village because] the art and culture are not favored by the attacker and it is against their life. In my opinion, [the way we could solve this problem is to] hold talks and agreements for attackers to reconcile and live together in a peaceful village.

THE PEACE VILLAGE CONFLICT

chapter 1:
The day turns to night, and the night turns to day….the cycle continues on our voyage towards peace village. The captain of our group, an elf ranger who goes by the name Legolas, son of Legoland is scouring the horizon from the ship’s prow. our journey is smooth so far thanks to the joint effort of both Legolas and a dragonborn sorcerer we just met 2 days ago in a K’Hisham tavern. His name is Pikolo Silverhide. He does not talk to much, most of the time he sniff the air and turn the wheel to the direction he chose. An underdark dweller such as mine won’t understand his demeanor but as long as we can reach the destination safe and sound, he will always be on my good side. There is another brave soul among us that goes by the name Dio. He join us out of necessity because our captain said he needs a strong negotiator when we reach the port of Seagate. I don’t trust a tiefling warlock is a good candidate for negotiation, but i won’t dare to challenge Legolas’s decision. Last but not least, our ship owner H’Razo Raga. He is a druid from Eagle Island. I saved him from the attack of south sea pirate more than a year ago. Since then, he is tagging along with us whenever we need a transport for our adventure. I always wonder why he surrendered his captaincy to Legolas. But i prefer to ponder upon it much later, milking out information is my expertise but i prefer to let them talk about it when they are ready.
“land Hooo” yelled the captain. I quickly jump on my feet and dash towards the ship’s starboard and i could see the port of Seagate not far from our ship. Suddenly, the water started to become much more hostile towards us. The sea is murky and the sharp rock formation near the coast is neigh visible to our sight. The rock formation helps to protect the coastal water from invading pirate clan by providing natural defensive line near the port. There is an opening near the port used by the traders to enter the port. Suddenly, A storm is brewing on top of our head, Legolas decided not to waste any time and commanded our sorcerer to maneuver the ship towards the port.
A huge wave suddenly crash onto our ship and the sorcerer lost the control of our ship. “brace yourself, the ship is about to hit the rock!!”…yelled the druid. all of our party member is holding onto whatever part of the ship they can grab. I was thinking it is better to jump out from the ship and with my rogue training, i could swim to safety and avoid getting injured.

i quickly grabbed my backpack and by using our cannon as leverage, i manage to jump into the sea without suffering any injury. the current is strong but i finally reach the beach with only minor scratches. When i finally caught my breath, i heard a loud booming sound from behind. to my horror, the ship crashed onto several sharp rock and finally it sink. in their last minute effort, my party members gathered all their belonging and jump into the sea and starts swimming towards the beach.
(str dice roll: all success, except sorcerer and druid)
The current is strong, but our tiefling warlock manage to summon the strength from Nine Hell and safely reach the beach unharmed. Our ranger seems prepared for unfortunate event, he uses his ranger skill and manage to swim towards the port without problem. However, our desert dwelling sorcerer were unable to swim properly under strong current and suffers injury when the waves pound him on rocks. The ship owner suffers a cut around his chest, probably from debris.. our whole party made it to the shore albeit with some minor setback.

We started our journey on a boat from Nowhere Village to Peace Village to join the Arts and Culture festival there.
Suddenly while we were entering the Seagate, a strong gale pushed our boat from behind. Afraid of the storm, Sylvanas the drow rogue suddenly jumped from boat and left us behind. Our boat smashed into the rocks and we fell to the ocean. After that we safely swam to the beach.
Peace Village Party
Then we continued our journey to Peace Village. Before we reached the village, suddenly a man who came from jungle holding his badly-injured, bloody neck. He was wildly exclaiming, “Hill giants!”
Then he fell and died on the spot. We buried his body and entered the village.
Sylvanas with his disguise skills transformed himself to look human and talked to the gate guardians to let us enter the village. While talking to the village, one of them spotted Sylvanas’ tail and we got caught.
Luckily Piccolo bribed the guardians. They took Piccolo’s money and let us enter the village. Dio who had excellent dancing skills register him self to dancing competition during the festival. He got first place and we got our prize.
While Dio was dancing, Sylvanas tried to stealthily steal our bribe money back from the guardians. He managed to steal our money but nearly got caught by guardians.
Defenders of Peace Village
A few seconds later a hill giant appeared from the jungle tried to enter the village and we try to stop him and forced to fight with him. Sylvanas who struck the giant first with his power. After that the elf ranger Legolas attacked the giant using long bow and struck one of giant’s eyes. After that H. Rgzo try launched his power using his ring to project fire at the giant’s left shoulder but the giant jump to right side and manage avoided the attacked. Suddenly the giant try to attack us by swinging his weapon onto us. Luckily his attacked missed since we anticipated it first. After that Sylvanas with his special abilities attacked giant from behind and killed the giant.
After a few minutes later. A group of hill giants came out from the jungle Lemon Jungle from Dew Mountains while the druid H. Rgzo was burning the giant’s body with his magic spell. We got lucky because of H. Rgzo fast action covered his action to create a healing spell that blinded the giants to their deeds. The Giant’s Chief who had scary voice go scolded the mayor because his son was dead.
Peace Village and its environs
The fight between giants and civilians were about to begins since the incident, we got lucky because of Piccolo gave bribe to the giants chief and managed to cool them down. The giant’s chief suddenly told the mayor that they want to join the festival. The mayor agreed after all the warriors agreed to gave permission in order to avoid a war. After the festival ended that night, giants returned to the hills happy and contented.
After the incident, the mayor decided to organise a festival for giants at Dew Mountains for the security and the benefit of the civilians of Peace Village in the future. We each received our rewards of 200 gold pieces for our heroic action. We left the village to continue our journey elsewhere.

The Hill Giants hate the arts and culture festival of human village because the sound of the music so loud and they are jealous because they don’t have any arts and culture that they can proud of. The Hill Giants hate the festival because of the noisy that come from the music. Get a place that far away from the Hill Giants habitat or ask them to join the festival.
SESSION 3

THE CROWDED CAT TOWN SKIRMISH
Guinevere the elf wizard writes:
We began our game by choosing elf wizard Guinevere. She is small, had long hair, wear white and dusty pink dress, her eyes big and green. She can fly and talk to animal.
The group travelled through the Monkey Jungle that nearest to the Farm Land, Blue Coral Beach, Crowded Cat Town and the most scariest place, Hill Giant. There were six in the party who were the Human Barbarian (Si Tompok), Human Druid (Merlin), Human Fighter (Aasimar), Elf Fighter (Kadaj Cloud), Elf Ranger (Park Ranger) and Elf Wizard (Guinevere).
Crowded Cat Town Party
The story began…
All of us were required to attend the Art Festival of Crowded Cat Town before dawn. In the Festival Art, there were performances of Gamelan, Dikir Barat, Batu Seremban, Deepavali, Ponggal and Lion Dance. While walking, we heard screaming. So, everyone wondered what was happening. “What we should do?” said Guinevere. Everyone kept asking. However, we were not brave enough to offer help because we noticed that the fierce screaming sound was coming from a Hill Giant.
So, the mission began. All of fighters and wizards in order to help the festival. So then, all of us can go to the festival and celebrates it happily.
Human fighter named Aasimar made the first move. Unfortunately, they decided to refuse to help because they were scared of the giant. Then, they passed it to the human barbarian named Si Tompok, asking for his help. Si Tompok also refused to help. However, the human druid Merlin was the first in the party that was willing to help the festival in the Village.
All fighters and wizards were facing the hill giant to fight it using their strength. Some of them were weak, hurt and lost while fighting with the Hill Giant.

Guinevere risked to fight the giant alone but she lost and was bleeding, injured by the giant. It was almost dawn. All the fighters and wizards were already tired, sad, and feeling hurt. They felt guilty but needed to continue the journey to the Art Festival sadly because they cannot save the place and people that need help.
If bad guys wanted to destroy our activities because they hate it, we will defend it by strengthening our military strategy and providing many tools and military forces to fight them. That’s all from us.

VALKYRIE AND THE PREPOSTEROUS WARRIORS OF GLAMOUR VILLAGE
Valkyrie the human fighter writes:
Once upon a time, there was a huge fiesta of Art and Culture in The Village of Glamour that were well run by the warriors: Valkyrie and The Preposterous Warriors of The Glamour Village. Valkyrie and Dragonborn Sorcerer – Fly Fire with their own unique Wau, Darth Vader with their special spinning top and The Elf Wizard with their extraordinary flying kites. The festival was full with cheers and jovially celebratory until the wizard – Dark Kucing with Mask warns the warriors of The Glamour Village that he will come to destroy the festival with help of his spiky warrior from a Porcupine Jungle when the full moon rise during the season.

Chapter 1
The Blood-Written-Note
Three days before the full moon rise, parts of the Wau, Kites and Spinning top played during the fiesta were damaged. The warriors of The Glamour Village feel annoyed and angry when they woke up with a broken and damaged thingy all around them. The shattered of diamond lanterns and the ripped of Kadazandusun embroidery tapestry all over their tent make them feel disappointed.
At the same moment, Valkyrie and Fly Fire found a blood written note “We will destroy all the ridiculous art and culture things if you are stubborn and continue the festival!” on a black big rock nearby the dry land where they used to fly their Wau during the festival. Krecher told their leader on what had happened.
A quarter to eight in the evening, at the sacred stone table, the conversation among Valkyrie, Fly Fire and Krecher stopped when Darth Vader walked through them. They remain silent until Darth Vader point out his thought about the bad wizard. Till the midnight, they altogether try to figure out a solution to overcome the problems.
Chapter 2
The Silver Slim Ditch
Valkyrie was all armor-ready before the sunrise. She standby with her sharpens weapons, javelin and pike. She grab a metal shield at the other hand and stood up when the leader, Darth Vader called all of the fighters to gather before they enter the woods with full of incredible untold creatures. Valkyrie, Darth Vader, Fly Fire and Krecher, all of them has prepared themselves with energy and spirits.
Under the light drizzle on that morning, the adventures begin with the first step taken by the leader, Darth Vader bringing all the warriors into the woods. After thirty minutes walking, suddenly, Valkyrie heard a water river flow heavily. Even though she feels unease, she calmly told her team and asked whether they heard the same thing but they did not. Fly Fire got the urge to fly higher and captured a big ditch with a torrents silver shining water flows a few distance away from them.
Valkyrie almost shout when she saw a fallen brittle trunk across ditch. She quickly told her leader. Then, Darth Vader asked all the Warriors to cross the bridge straight away carefully since the silver water increases. Fly Fire and Krechers get across the hot water and sweating heavily. Valkyrie managed to cross the bridge as well and she think that Darth Vader will be at her back but nah. With the full vapour of the hot silver water blurring their vision, they were still waiting for their leader.
After a few minutes, Darth Vader shouted from the middle of the trunk. Valkyrie quickly ran through the trunk and pull him out from the ditch area when she heard the screams.
They altogether safe and continues their journey.
Chapter 3
The Porcupine Jungle
The sun was directly overhead when they treasuring the jungle. They decided to take a break for a while. They rest under a huge shady tree at the middle of the jungle. Everything was fine until Valkyrie was shocked by a soft ‘beep beep’ sounds near with her. Her big eyes saw an ugly spiky creatures behind sleeping Fly Fire, a few steps far from her. Out of the blue, someone screamed loudly beside her. Yes, it was Krecher!
The situation turns wild when the porcupine roars! Krecher immediately hides behind the bushes. Valkyrie get up and cover herself behind a big rock. Darth Vader as well!
After that, the giant porcupine rise and aggressively want to attack Fly Fire. Without hesitation, Fly Fire cough harsh and loudly fire a violet flame that causes the trees around explode. The smoke blurred the vision of the creatures. The porcupine groaned in pain. Then, Fly Fire quickly turns around and throw the hidden magical darts towards the porcupine mutants. However, the creatures was still mad and turns insane under the soreness that he felt. The porcupine groaned and jump towards Fly Fire. The mutant bites Fly Fire and push them away on the ground hitting the tree.

Valkyrie stood and grab neatly her javelin when she heard Fly Fire moan in pain. When the creature and Fly Fire were struggling with each other, Valkyrie slowly crawl on the big rock that she was hiding just now. With vitality and spirit, Valkyrie take the opportunity to jump from the big rock, holding her secret javelin and stabbed at the back of the porcupine! The creatures groaned painfully and slowly kneel down on the ground.
Fly Fire cough harshly and produce more bigger violet flame than before. The bushes burnt. The stabbed porcupine was on fire too! However, the grumble spiky creatures manage to get up and breathe weirdly. The warriors stand out to prepare themselves. Valkyrie was holding tightly her shield, standing near to her was Fly Fire. Out of five seconds, the porcupine quill flew out from the mutant body and hit the Fly Fire shoulder! Valkyrie able to cover herself with the shield. She ran towards the bleeding Fly Fire on the ground.
The creatures came nearer them but then Darth Vader took chance to attack the creatures but he was pushed away easily. When the Fly Fire saw his leader was down, Fly Fire try to stand with all the energy he had, he cough the final harsh blue flame fire.
Eventually the mutants were damaged and killed. They were all rescued.
Chapter 4
The Old Weird Man
Their step stopped, when Valkyrie rise her right hand and she turns her body to her team. She was making a finger on lips silence gesture. Crack! An old man with rope around his shoulder freeze when he stepped on a branch.
Four pairs of eyes were looking at him like they want to eat him! Valkyrie can see him shaking and freeze there with a bubble of ‘gulp’ on his head.
Valkyrie move her step forward to the old man, followed by the other warriors. The old man quickly told them that he want to hurry. He just want to find some firewood. Valkyrie calmly explained to him about the intention to find the wizard. Then, he turn up to warn them about the untold story of the wizard who has a weird face which live on the Marvelous Mountain.
Darth Vader asked him to show the route but the old man did not want to. He only told them to follow the narrow trails until they found the mountain.
Then, the old man quickly said he want to leave and less than five seconds, he disappeared from the sight.
Chapter 5
The Marvelous Mountain
It was drizzling when they reach near to the mountain. The land was slippery.
Darth Vader leads them to climb with no difficulty at all. Valkyrie climb carefully, since her armor was too heavy and make her to climb the mountain slowly. It was very challenging obstacle for her. But with all the spirits that she has, her soul and inner self of a human fighters, eventually, she manage to be on the mountain safely after an hour of climbing.
Even though Fly Fire was still in pain, he able to fly slowly and reached at the top of the mountain. Krecher as well.
Chapter 6
Greet By An Ogre and The Wizard
As the sun was going down, Darth Vader lead his team as a searcher since he knows the land and after walking for a few minutes, they finally found a creepy huge cave.
With the unique bright eyes, Krecher able to see clearly in the dark. So, she leads them into the cave carefully. Valkyrie was holding tight her shield and fully prepared herself with upcoming obstacle. They walk slowly into the cave, until Krecher gave a sign to stop. There was a huge solid door in front of them. Hiding behind the door, a fat tall guy with a great smelly feet was standing and holding a bludgeon.
With no hesitation, Darth Vader went straight forward to open the door. But suddenly an explosion occurs. The colorful acid explosion has damaged Darth Vader. He moans in pain.
While all the chaos, Valkyrie standby herself with her magical light-pike. Fly Fire and Krecher helps to put aside his leader, Darth Vader. Unfortunately, the giant with big fat belly came out and smashed the door with his smelly oversize feet. Fly Fire was harmed by the shattered door. They were all attacked by that insane ogre.
Valkyrie jump and fight by using the light-pike she had. She threw it all directly to the ogre. The ogre groaned painfully. With helps from the fireball by Krecher, both of them struggling to attack and assault against the ogre non stop. The ogre hefted high his massy bludgeon and swing it around him to protect himself.
At the same time, Darth Vader and Fly Fire were on the ground. They have used all of their powers in fighting the enemy. Suddenly, Fly Fire saw that the shattered door was connecting to another old dark high building hidden behind it. He dragged Darth Vader slowly went through the way out from the chaos, and then he saw a black suit man standing still on the balcony of the building.
Valkyrie saw them went out to the building. She kept attacks the bad giant.
The defenders of Glamour
Finally, she jumped towards the ogre. She use the last powerful light-pike and hit directly to the smelly feet of the ogre. The ogre groaned and moaned loudly. He cried painfully and suddenly his voice changed from a harsh groaned to a screaming little child. Valkyrie freeze. Krecher stopped firing the fireballs when she saw a big fat ogre turns to a 40 inches size creature. He cried and ran away. What a hilarious ogre! Both of the warriors laughed and settle down on the ground.
Fly Fire step forward and talk to the wizard bravely that they do not want their culture to be gone. The wizard with his red eyes was looking at Fly Fire and shouted that their culture is torturing him! All the culture is mocking on him.
After all, Valkyrie and Krecher were standing beside Fly Fire. Valkyrie told the wizard and stand out with her opinions that the culture is important to preserve the originality and traditional cultures. Krecher supports with the importance of preventing the culture from fading away.
Darth Vader speak up that everyone can involve and play all the arts and culture without hesitation even though the races is different.
The wizard was suddenly quiet for a few minutes. He then asked slowly if he can join the fiesta and get rid all of the anger and turbulent among us.
“But first, open your mask!” shouted Valkyrie out of sudden.
The wizard steadily opened the mask at his face and grinned. He was look-alike as a Cheshire cat from Alice and Wonderlands! But this one is an old dark version and cannot even walk stably.
The battle was over.
They walk down together and the fiesta of Art and Cultures in The Village of Glamours continues.
SESSION 5

THE CREEPY WATCH VILLAGE ONSLAUGHT
Wahahhaha the drow rogue writes:
The story begun with five parties that live in a little village which name as Village of Creepy Watch.
The village is control by Drow Rogue, wahahhaha. One day, wahahaha bring other parties go to sweet love mountain for the adventures. Along the journey, they meet a monster,Mr. Blackpants and he had been defeat due to the strong cooperation bond between the parties.

After that, they found a castle in the mountain while Drow Rogue are sleeping, Halfling Rogue (citacitataa) lead the group to peak the condition of castle from the door. Suddenly the door open and a monster came out from the castle and have a big fight with the parties. In the end the five parties defeated the monster and invite him to join the festival in their village.

The moster happy with the invitation and they live happily in the village together.
