Kuala Lumpur 2099 was a colossal city-state, among hundred of other city-states which still existed on this dying Earth. Half of the population of the planet were safely nestled in these cities subject to amazing technology, while also under the watchful eye of the tyrannical megacorporations. The other half of the population are either rich enough to buy their way onto space habitats across the solar system or are dead, killed by a vengeful mother nature outside the walls of the city-states. DIGITAL REMAINS 01 A Simple Job Today I ran a short Savage Worlds cyberpunk scenario for the first time for my son where he played an “information retrieval specialist” with a “switchblade katana” (Yes. I’ll allow that! Same damage stats as a normal katana!) in Kuala Lumpur 2099. His yet-unnamed retrieval specialist had been paid to break into and steal a file named “deathbringer.odxz” from a terminal in […]

Savage Worlds: Weekend Warriors Playtest
Jerry Blakemore came over to the house all the way from Texas to playtest 12 to Midnight‘s new Savage Worlds game Weekend Warriors! (Not really, he was on vacation, and I just happened to be in his path.) Although I’ve bought the Savage Worlds Explorer Edition from Amazon.com seven thousand years ago, I’ve never had the opportunity to run or play any games with it. So, this was my first time rolling dice for Savage Worlds. After picking Jerry up at his hotel, we then headed back to Pandan Indah to Irfan’s school extraction. Then, we had lunch at Galaxy Ampang where many different types of nasi goreng died for us. In the meantime, we regaled each other with a myriad of gaming war stories. Continue readingSavage Star Wars Character Sheet For Savage Worlds
Almost two years ago, I was looking at custom Savage Worlds character sheets online. There were ones for games such as Solomon Kane, Slipstream, Necessary Evil, Realms of Cthulhu and Deadlands. These roleplaying games used the Savage Worlds system and they were officially supported. However, what if you need to play Savage Star Wars? I know there are a number of fanmade (unofficial) documents designed for you to play a Star Wars RPG using Savage Worlds. So, I fired up Inkscape and created this custom character sheet. If you’re using Savage Worlds to run Star Wars, go ahead and download this pdf file from Google Drive. Continue readingStrike Force 7 Spot Illustrations
Recently I was given the task to come up with some spot illustrations for Strike Force 7 – Savaged! from Super Genius Games, the role-playing game that uses the Savage Worlds system. It’s currently available for sale as a pdf on RPGNow and DriveThruRPG, but Super Genius Games will soon be releasing a print edition. Strike Force 7 is basically America’s daring special missions force, with a special purpose to defeat “Skorpion”, a ruthless terrorist organisation determined to take over the world. These are just minor black and white spot illustrations, so these aren’t the best or the biggest illustrations on the book. I can’t wait to see the final copy which must be filled with a host of great images. Look for Strike Force 7 – Savaged! print edition coming in August to a book or hobby store near you!
