TTRPGs At A Secondary School Next Month

Meeting at the SMSTSP meeting room

First external meeting with local schools to talk about TTRPGs in teaching and learning

The last time I contacted the secondary school SMS Tuanku Syed Putra was when we had the SCALLOP event a couple of years ago. Since then, I had been very busy with being course coordinator and my free time went out the window. That was among the reasons why the blog posts here had been sparse this past two years.

Now that I will be transferring my duties to another colleague, I had more time to promulgate programmes, especially University Social Responsibility (USR) programmes, with external parties such as SMSTSP. I am still very passionate about letting other educators know the potential of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) as a teaching and learning tool. I presented my case to the team here, and they have agreed to hold a TTRPG event with their English language club students the first week next month!

This will be my chance not just to spread the word about TTPRGs but also to help the secondary school students improve their English speaking skills.

If it worked for a dozen (plus change) students at ACS Sitiawan 35  years ago, it should work for the entire world.
