The last leg of the vacation was a couple of days back at Ain’s kampung at Pasir Mas, Kelantan. When we arrived, Irfan’s cousin Aiman and family were on their second-to-last day there before returning to Kuala Lumpur. They had a few hours together to play, with the Atok’s ball from Sitiawan, and the bubbles. That night Aiman slept over at his paternal grandmother’s house. They came to visit the next morning before leaving.
Fruits were abundant. There were roadside stalls which sold tons of them. Ain bought a pineapple to be turned into pajeri nenas. Tok Bah and Tok Ma also bought mangosteens, as seen in the above photo. It had been a while since I had some.
Irfan poses beside a jackfruit tree, where a large jackfruit waited to be cut down by Tok Bah. We brought the fruit with us back home. We are slowly eating the internal ulas. Some day we will finish them all.
Irfan, Ain and I kicked the ball around under the rambutan tree in front of Tok Bah’s house. We played til Irfan was soaked to the gills in his own sweat… so he’d fall asleep earlier at night.
Irfan also blew bubbles with his second cousins, two pairs of siblings of Ain’s cousins, all four were girls. He was happy to learn he would be able to play with them again on Aidilfitri.
Tok Bah and Irfan had more conversations this time we were back. I must remind Irfan to speak louder when talking to his grandfather.
]The morning we left, we took more photos. Here’s one of Tok Ma hugging Irfan. Looking at Irfan you would think he had all the energy in the world that morning to keep active…
… but as soon as we passed Kuala Krai, Irfan was out cold probably dreaming of fruits and cousins and the truckload of Ben 10, Tom and Jerry and the Pink Panther Show episodes he watched on Astro 75% of his waking hours there.
