Rafe's 2 Month Birthday
Despite the date on this entry, it has been a long time since the boy's 2 month birthday. It's been a crazy busy time, but definitely a wonderful, and exhausting time for Vin and me. Just look at this entry as a way to show some cute pictures of Rafe
The above really shows off his gray-green eyes and is one of my favorites.

Rafe is coming along nicely and quite recovered from his bilirubin difficulties. On this leap-day, he had his 2-month checkup. He measured 24 inches long (90th percentile, surprise!) and was at 50th percentile for weight. He recovered from his 3 jabs, heel poking, and oral vaccine in record time, barely crying at all. And then he got to show off his bandages to Kak Yaya (she had band-aid envy). He was a little feverish and lethargic for the next 24 hours as a side effect of the vaccines but was perfectly fine after that. He happily spent the time recuperating in Mama's lap though.
Adik is doing everything he's supposed to - following objects and people (especially his Kak Yaya) with his eyes, and starting to smile and babble to us when we talk to him. He has the cutest squeal-gasp-laugh that he does that is one of the best sounds in the world! When he smiles, we all can't help but smile with him.
Here are some pictures of Adik interacting with us taken around his 2-month birthday:
He is a good boy who has a sweet disposition, and does not cry much (knock wood). Here are some pictures of him, the many faces of Adik. It is still a challenge to try and photograph him smiling. But we tried our best.
(Still no smile!)
(Thanks Auntie Amy and Uncle Jefri!)
He is showing interest in the toys on the vibrating chair but not yet reaching out to them. All in all it was a fun month. It is an amazing time. He is still very much the cuddle bug, spending a lot of time in my arm or in my lap on his nursing pillow. He does like to play at 4 AM but since Vin and I are up at that point anyways, it's not so bad. We're getting used to our segmented sleeping schedule. Happy 2-month birthday, baby boy! We love you! And you guys hung in there patiently - a final picture, that elusive thing that we have been trying to photograph:
