Then, Farid and Cikma came a-visiting and Farid joined the game. Previously: Hondo Pash and his little sister Yuzy Pash had finally freed themselves of the crime lord Teemo the Hutt. With their newfound friend the armoured bounty hunter Giin Lawquane and two astromech droids R2-8B8 and R5-K2, they began to carve a life for themselves in the spacelanes of the Outer Rim Territories with their YT-1300 light freighter Lava Jaeger. The first stop in their quest for their first freight job: the planet Rodia. The ship set down in Landing Bay 4 in the small town of Port Trammel on Rodia. Paper Minis: Floating Droids

Here are three types of floating droids as paper miniatures for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. You’ve seen the Marksman-H training remote before in Star Wars, where Luke trained with one on the Millennium Falcom. There’s also the Mark IV sentry droid that helped the sandtroopers in Mos Eisley look for Luke and Ben. Finally there’s the “recon droid” from The Clone Wars. Still unnamed officially, This appears to be a smaller version of the larger Arakyd Viper probe droid seen in Empire Strikes Back. Each of these can easily be low-level obstacles for players in your game session. Even the training remote’s sting beam can be refitted with something stronger to ensure players are sufficiently challenged… or killed… or both. Note: These droids aren’t remotely to scale with other human-sized figures. Download from Google Drive for free and assemble it for immediate use.

Paper Minis: Elite Battle Droids

We return to the droid army of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, specifically the BX commando droids and the Droideka destroyer droids; six each. These should be fearsome enough mechanical obstacles for your players. You could use these paper miniatures in a Clone Wars campaign for the Star Wars roleplaying game, but you could also have these appear in Rebellion Era campaign whereby players discover private individuals or corporations or governments that still employ these droids for security purposes. Perhaps players stumble across a crashed Separatist warship where these droids have long been in stasis, awaiting for some clumsy character to inadvertently activate them. Paper Minis: Specialised Stormtroopers

More Imperial paper miniatures for Star Wars RPG! Imperial Radiation Zone Assault Troopers a.k.a. “Radtroopers” are a specially trained and geared subgroup in the Stormtrooper Corps that fight in highly radioactive environments. Use them when the player characters are in “hot” zones. Crashed. Rescue operations. These troops can be the opposition. Imperial Storm Commandos are an elite members of the Stormtrooper Corps that perform covert operations, sabotage and precision strikes behind enemy lines. You could use them whenever you want Imperial armoured ninjas to be a thorn on the player characters’ sides. Click here to download and assemble the paper miniatures from Google Drive.

Paper Minis: Treaty of Vontor

Once upon a time, during the war between the Hutts and Xim the Despot, the Treaty of Vontor was drawn between the Hutt families and three major species in the Si’Klaata Cluster, namely the Klatooinians, the Niktos and the Vodrans. After winning the battle, these species became permanently subservient to the Hutts. These are aliens that only appeared in Return of the Jedi, so no Vodrans. Sorry, Vodrans. Also known as the Day The Earth Stood Still-referenced aliens. “Nikto” originally referred to the Red Niktos (Kajain’sa’Nikto) that appeared in Return of the Jedi. Eventually it became the name of the entire species. “Klaatu” originally referred to the green-skinned skiff guard in Return of the Jedi. The name stuck over the years and the species was renamed Green Nikto (Kadas’sa’Nikto). “Barada” still refers to the skiff guard and the head of Jabba’s vehicle pool. His species was officially named Klatooinian. Download […]

Paper Minis: Hutts’ Hired Hands

Anybody up for five Weequays and five Gamorreans in paper miniature form for Star Wars RPG? If your player characters will be facing off a Hutt crime lord (or a Hutt business owner), you can have the Hutt protect by these employees. I should have made these up before I ran Return to Mos Shuuta. I have run adventures that took place on Sriluur before, by the way. Plenty of Weequays there. Download the Hutts’ Hired Hands paper minis from Google Drive here.

Wandrella – With Stats!

From the first ever Star Wars original novel, Splinter of the Mind’s Eye by Alan Dean Foster, is the giant worm known as wandrella. It was visually defined by Chris Sprouse in the Dark Horse Comic adaptation mini-series. There is a link to the D6 stats below, and comparable (more or less) FFG stats are displayed beneath it. Why would you not want your player characters face a giant slimy albino worm that could burst out of the ground or a dark, dank cave during their adventures? Paper Minis: Assassin Droids

But how do droids consume hashish?! The Eliminator 434 assassin droid was statted up from a concept art in West End Games’ Star Wars Sourcebook. The IG-86 sentinel droid appeared in multiple episodes of Star Wars The Clone Wars. Since IG-88 is (more or less) unique, I gather they had to come up with a new type of droid that resembles it. Click here to download them for printing and assembling. Bonus pic: Here’s a screencap from behind-the-scenes preview features of the upcoming Star Wars Rebels animated series. See anything familiar?

Jegergryte’s Cartol’s Emporium is Live

Audun “Jegergryte” Lovlie has released his fan-made Star Wars RPG supplement to Edge of the Empire. You might have seen the cover he requested for it in an earlier blog post here. Entitled CARTOL’S EMPORIUM OF USEFUL THINGS: THE CATALOGUE OF SHINIES the pdf details the mobile shadowport known as Cartol’s Emporium, where a nest of fringe characters dwell, as well as stats for various weapons and ships that the characters might need or encounter in their adventures. Barri

Barri – With Stats!

Like the space slug, the barri is another beast that lives in vacuum. A barri breaks down asteroids using its acid secretions with its mouth and absorb its nutrients. It can also propel itself by expelling gaseous waste underneath its quadridactyl base. (Yes. It farts though space between asteroids.) Being semi-sapient, it can form telepathic bonds with spacers allowing them permission to hitch intersystem rides on the hull of starships. It can also bestow instinctive astrogation figures to their mind-bonded spacers, giving them faster, better routes through hyperspace. The creature first appeared in West End Games’s Creature of the Galaxy in 1994. Its write-up and D6 stats can be found at pages 12-14. I have converted them (more or less) to Fantasy Flight Games’ Edge of the Empire RPG system here. Because the central theme of Edge of the Empire is spacers making a living in the galaxy, the barri would be […]

EOTE: Return to Mos Shuuta

Edged by the Empire Episode 04 Return to Mos Shuuta The Star Wars RPG adventure continues from the previous session with Act 2 of The Long Arm of the Hutt free downloadable adventure (PDF download, low res version, 2.4MB). The story arc concludes with “Return to Mos Shuuta”, but the module has been extensively modified to account for a lot of changes that took place in the course of several sessions. Irfan rolls the Force Dice and gets 3 Dark Side Points. Kaliklak Hive, Geonosis As Teemo the Hutt‘s agent Zasvid the Brizzit was being taken away from Archduke Poggle the Irredeemable‘s audience chamber in Kaliklak Hive on Geonosis, Hondo Pash the captain of Lava Jaeger, the Twi’lek Numa of the Nabat Militia and the astromech droid R2-8B8 considered their next move. For his transgressions against Teemo’s less-than-savoury enterprise on Ryloth and Geonosis, the Hutt planned to abduct Yuzy Pash, […]

Paper Minis: Geonosians

I created some Geonosian paper miniature for Star Wars RPG. Geonosians get their own sheet because the general need for it at present thanks to Act 2 of The Long Arm of the Hutt for Star Wars Edge of the Empire Beginner Game which takes place on Geonosis. My own session of Act 2 was renamed “Aggressive Negotiations” that only had one Geonosian Archdukes instead of two Dukes. But the sheet linked below has two differently coloured Dukes to be used with the adventure, as well as 8 drones. Download them here from Google Drive.

The Gifts of Star Wars Books

Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopaedia Tsing visited with a gift: The Old Repubic Encyclopaedia, with material from the Star Wars MMO game set 3600 years before the movies and more than 300 years after the Knights of the Old Republic/Dark Lords of the Sith comic series. It’s a great treasure trove of information not just for the game, which I do not play. It also has a ton of stuff I can mine for Star Wars RPG sessions set in the present. New ships! Not much but PCs might come across some of these vessels in deep storage for thousands of years, just ready to be explored or to be used as their vehicles. Just make sure there are unknown dangers aboard after being dormant for millennia. Strangely enough, my current desktop wallpaper is of an XS light freighter berthed in a landing bay. You don’t see the Gree […]

BU-77 v3 WIP

BU-77, Fugitive ARC Trooper

I once posted about BU-77 the ARC Trooper, my Star Wars D6 RPG character from the  Team: Sabredart campaign, complete with D6 stats. Recently, I found a line art of BU-77 that I drew after became a fugitive from the Republic and wore a new costume he found aboard the Mandalorian Dungeon Ship Lost Hope. So I imported the drawing to GIMP and painted it up a bit. Also, I experimented with layers a bit. I duplicated two extra layers, colourised the first two layers green and red respectively, set them to Multiply and Screen respectively and offset each layer from another by a couple of pixels causing the above effect to happen. The works in progress can be seen below. Boggles my mind that the first two pieces on the left were made almost 10 years ago. The one on the right is the penultimate version before I began […]
